Canine influenza outbreak is reported in Texas

Twenty confirmed cases of canine influenza, H3N8, and 70 suspected cases occurred in San Antonio, Texas, over the past month. Additional cases have been reported in Dallas and Austin, and veterinarian Michele Wright urged owners to prevent the spread of canine flu, which is not transmissible to other species, by vaccinating their dogs for canine influenza.
