Delaware orders Blue Cross to be part of appropriate use program

The Delaware Insurance Commissioner has mandated Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware to use the American College of Cardiology's FOCUS program, which is based on the appropriate use criteria developed by medical groups, in the ordering and coverage of medical imaging procedures. The order is made in consideration of concerns over the company's use of prior authorization for imaging services through radiology benefit managers.
