Labor Department, IRS and states join to fight 'wage theft'

The Labor Department, the Internal Revenue Service and at least nine states are sharing information to crack down on employers -- including janitorial services -- that are not properly compensating employees. Tactics under review include improperly labeling workers as independent contractors, not paying the minimum wage and not compensating workers for overtime.
