More evidence links diabetes, Alzheimer's disease

In a Japanese study that followed about 700 people, 27% of those with type 2 diabetes developed Alzheimer's disease, compared with 20% of those without diabetes. The findings in the journal Neurology strengthen the evidence for a link between the two diseases. Another study found that using insulin nasal spray may slow the progression of the cognitive disorder, researchers said.
