Opera makes mobile move with Handster app store acquisition

Opera is stepping up its bid to become more than primarily a provider of browsers with its acquisition of Handster, the top independent seller of Android applications. The acquisition is also seen a move away from the Web, where Opera's browser is a minor player, and toward mobile, where the company's browser has more than 21% of the global market. A big app store would complement and enhance its presence, according to this article.
