Apple adds features to iOS 6 but Google Maps, YouTube are missing

Apple made its iOS 6 upgrade available on Wednesday, and while the software carries a number of new features it is missing two major components: a YouTube application and support for Google Maps. Apple, which replaced Google's software with its own mapping technology, also updated its Siri digital assistant while adding it to the iPad. The new iOS also is designed for tighter integration with Facebook and Apple's Passbook mobile-payment technology, and includes a boarding pass and ticket manager.
