Logan to purchase systems for inspecting underside of vehicles

Boston's Logan International Airport will purchase inspection systems capable of detecting foreign objects such as explosives on the underside of vehicles headed onto the airport tarmac. "Our airport security program is multilayered and constantly evolving, and we look to use new technologies where feasible,” Massport spokesman Matt Brelis said. “We work very hard to make sure that our facilities are safe, secure and operate efficiently.” A request for information will be released today.
