Verizon, AT&T bring LTE to more markets

Verizon Wireless on Tuesday revealed plans to extend its Long-Term Evolution coverage to an additional six rural-based carriers by the end of the year. The telecom's Rural America program allows the company to lease coverage from the smaller companies. AT&T also is expanding its LTE network -- albeit in a more urban direction -- by adding a number of cities, including Seattle, Detroit and Portland, Ore., according to The Verge.
