Ala. educators learn about what works when teaching fractions

Educators from several Alabama school systems are learning new ways to teach math concepts, such as fractions, multiplication and proportionality. Some educators recently received training from the Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative focused specifically on best practices for teaching fractions. "It's based on formative assessment, where teachers know if the students are getting it," principal Ann Jackson said.
