Barry Callebaut, Hershey build Ivory Coast school

Hershey and Barry Callebaut are funding construction of a primary school in Ivory Coast, which they say will curtail child labor on the cocoa farms. "Child labor is a result of poverty and lack of education," said Jens Rupp, Barry Callebaut's head of corporate social responsibility communications. "Sourcing often happens in areas where children may work on farms because there are no schools to attend."
