Court accepts Halliburton manager's guilty plea on Gulf spill evidence tampering

Federal prosecutors charged former Halliburton employee Anthony Badalamenti on Thursday with the destruction of evidence related to the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo accepted Badalamenti's guilty plea on the charge, which requires the company to pay a $200,000 penalty. The agreement is reasonable and "adequately reflects the seriousness of the offense," Milazzo said.
