Dealers go high- and low-tech to foil iPhone thieves

The company that makes those exploding dye packs that have stymied bank robbers has discovered a willing clientele in iPhone dealers, who have deployed a year-old tracking device to thwart would-be robbers eager to get their hands on Apple handsets. The FindIt, from 3SI Security Systems, uses GPS and radio frequency technology that enables police to track the location of stolen phones. Dealers have also turned to more low-tech measures, such as using reinforced safes and keeping their stores' lights on around the clock.
