German workers hit Amazon with 3-day strikes

About 600 Amazon workers at distribution centers in Leipzig and Bad Hersfeld, Germany, began a three-day strike Thursday as the union there pushes the company to adopt wage agreements like the ones that cover the country's retail and mail-order workers. Amazon, which has agreed to pay Christmas bonuses, says its workers are already paid at the upper-end of the scale for employees of logistics facilities. The union represents more than 5,000 workers at both locations.
