Japan trade gap widens 25%

A surging energy bill due to the declining yen helped push up Japan's August trade deficit 25% to US$9.8 billion. Japan has now recorded a record-tying 14 consecutive months of trade deficits, despite a 14.7% increase in exports for the month.
