Levels of inflammatory markers may determine metabolic health

A study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism revealed individuals with normal levels of inflammation markers -- including fasting plasma glucose, total cholesterol and blood pressure -- may be "metabolically healthy" regardless of their weight. Researchers also found obese patients with normal levels of inflammatory markers were more than three times as likely to be metabolically healthy than those with abnormal levels.
