Ore. mixed-use development to reuse wastewater, aim for LEED Platinum

A mixed-use development complex in Portland, Ore., will use various green building technologies to gain LEED Platinum status from the U.S. Green Building Council. The "Hassalo on Eighth" project will feature three buildings, 657 apartments and 58,000 square feet of retail space. The buildings are designed so they will recycle and reuse all wastewater, which is not common in residential developments, said GBD Architects, which designed the project.
