Pilot: Sim practice builds skills, confidence

Pilot Dick Karl writes about the value of simulator training. While proving that recurrent training works is a statistical challenge, he says, practicing difficult landings and other maneuvers does have value. After completing a difficult approach during a training session at SimCom in Orlando, Fla., he asked himself the question, "Why in the world would anybody attempt this approach without practicing it first in the simulator?"
