Report touts banks' importance to commodities trading

A report from IHS Global says that banks play an important role in commodities trading, and that curbing their involvement could hurt markets. "Banks play an essential role in assuring the smooth functioning of the commodity markets which underpin the $16.6 trillion U.S. economy, and on which consumers ultimately rely," the report says.
