Risk score may help forecast major bleeding in AF

A study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology revealed the HAS-BLED bleeding risk score may be superior to two other scores in predicting major bleeding in patients with atrial fibrillation who have been treated with anticoagulants. However, researchers stressed that HAS-BLED was not meant to forecast thromboembolitic events, and they noted that providers should use the CHADS2 and CHA2DS2-VASc scores for that.
