SEC vote bolsters all-public FINRA arbitration panels

The Securities and Exchange Commission has approved a proposal by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority to establish arbitration panels made up of three members of the public with no ties to the financial industry as the default option for disputes that exceed $100,000. Parties are allowed to opt out and work with industry representatives.
