Survey: Increased operating costs, higher revenue seen with PCMH practices

A survey by the Medical Group Management Association revealed patient-centered medical homes had higher operating costs but also showed better total medical revenue per patient compared with non-PCMH practices. Researchers said the higher operating costs among PCMH practices may be driven by a need for more providers and staff to bolster efficiency.
