Alaska Cruise Association sues state over passenger head tax

The Alaska Cruise Association claims that the state's $50-per-head tax on cruise passengers forces visitors to foot the bill for projects unrelated to cruise travel. "We feel that the entry fee as implemented is illegal and that Alaskans are being hurt by the tax, and that the court system is the best venue to resolve the issues," said ACA President John Binkley.
