College degree eases some, but not all, pain of the recession

Workers with college degrees are less likely to lose their jobs, and if they do, they are able to find new work more quickly than their less-educated peers, statistics show. But that doesn't make a degree a guarantee for landing a good job at a good wage. "We are experiencing a period of shared misery, where workers at all education levels are struggling, including those with a college degree," says Lawrence Mishel, president of the Economic Policy Institute.
