Consumers increasingly enroll in health plans online

A DestinationRx study indicated that between 2008 and 2010, 23% of consumers shifted from call center-assisted enrollments to Web-based registrations for their insurance plans. The increasing public interest in Web-based enrollment aligns with plans by states to allow small businesses and consumers to use online portals to shop for coverage options, the study noted.
