Number of women in the finance industry has dwindled

In the past decade, 2.6% of women -- 141,000 -- left the finance industry, compared with 389,000 men joining the ranks during the same period, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports. Experts say the reasons are that more women, often in the entry-level ranks, have been replaced by technology, while some are leaving the stress of the industry to launch their own businesses or start families.
