Colo. firm seeks approval to build propane terminal in Maine

Colorado-based DCP Midstream is working on a formal application for its proposed 137-foot-tall propane storage tank that would hold more than 20 million gallons of fuel in Searsport, Maine. The Maine Department of Transportation has signed off on the plan, and the company is waiting for the state Department of Environmental Protection's final approval, said Bruce Probert, Searsport's Planning Board chairman. DCP Midstream also has to secure letters of recommendation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Coast Guard before filing a formal application with the planning board.
