Consortium invests in energy-efficient building systems

Lockheed Martin and Barclays are part of a business consortium that plans to invest as much as $650 million in energy-efficient systems for commercial buildings in Miami and in Sacramento, Calif. Local laws permit building owners to make these upgrades by paying for them over five to 20 years through surcharges on their property taxes.
