Foundation of Kingdom Tower could be nearly 200 feet deep

The planned 3,280-foot tall Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia will likely need a 197-foot-deep foundation similar to that of Abu Dhabi's Burj Khalifa tower, which used "a scaled-up, high density, low permeability concrete mat made to hold back the corrosive effects of salt water from the Red Sea." The Kingdom Tower is designed to be the world's tallest when it is completed.
