Macy's makes its downtown Pittsburgh footprint smaller

Macy's is consolidating from nine floors to six at its store in downtown Pittsburgh, with a makeover that will result in a store that's still about twice the size of the chain's typical suburban department stores. The company put the 13-story building up for sale last year, and said it plans to lease back the retail and office space it needs.
