1,400-mile ride in John Deere tractor raises funds for children's charities

Darren Hayes from LaCrosse, Ind., is taking a 1,400-plus mile trip on a John Deere tractor to raise money for Riley Children's Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Riding from Chiefland, Fla., to New Buffalo, Mich., Hayes is taking back roads but is a hit at gas stations. "A tractor with a car trailer behind it, with banners 10 feet long and three feet high, somebody's going to pull into a gas station and some kid's going to say 'What is that?' It's something very outlandish, the pushiest advertisement possible," he said.
