Drones take farm management down to the inch

Drones are now available for farmers to use as a tool for more precise irrigation and application of fertilizer to boost efficiency and production. The machines can evaluate farm fields "on an inch-by-inch level ... versus what we did only a few years ago. The more data we have, the more educated decisions we can make," said Tom Sloma, vice president of crop insurance at Farm Credit Mid-America in Louisville, Ky.
