House panel criticizes VA over slow response to information requests

Officials at the Department of Veterans Affairs were harshly criticized in testimony before a House committee on Thursday, with at least one lawmaker accusing the VA of feigning incompetence when facing information requests. "You are not what you appear to be today –- a bumbling idiot," Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., told the VA's assistant secretary for congressional and legislative affairs.
