How the ACA could stall restaurant growth

Restaurant industry executives met with lawmakers last week to advocate changing the Affordable Care Act's definition of full-time employees from 30 hours to 40 hours per week, which could prevent stalled business growth and cuts to employee hours. If the law is not changed, adjusting worker hours would "create costly and burdensome tracking of employees' hours" for businesses and deny employees "the flexibility to work the hours they need and are accustomed to," IFA President and CEO Steve Caldeira said.
