Hypofractionated radiation as effective as longer course for early breast cancer

A study of nearly 4,500 breast cancer patients in the U.K. found that three weeks of high-dose radiation had a comparable effect to five weeks of lower-dose radiation therapy while causing less damage in women with early breast cancer. The shorter course of radiation was less costly than the current standard of care, according to a report in The Lancet Oncology.
