Plastic pieces prompt recall of ground beef meant for school lunches

More than 58,000 pounds of ground beef has been recalled by Central Valley Meat after investigation by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service found that the product may contain small pieces of plastic. The affected products, intended for use by the National School Lunch Program, were delivered to distribution centers in Texas, Montana, California and Arkansas. The products carry the case code "6063A3091A" or "6063A3091B," and the establishment number Est. 6063A.
