Investigation shows WTC met wind resistance codes of its day

An ongoing National Institute of Standards and Technology investigation of the World Trade Center disaster indicates the buildings met the wind load requirements of their construction era. The information should help NIST investigators better analyze the overall strengths and baseline performance of the two buildings before they were brought down in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
