Pro football teams look to build first-class stadiums

National Football League teams are in a stadium-building frenzy, and the price tags are not cheap. The projects are not necessarily geared toward more seats for football fans, but could become a haven for shopping, dining, conventions and even residences. The New York Jets want to create a $1.4 billion convention facility and stadium on Manhattan's West Side, while the Dallas Cowboys want a 75,000-seat stadium that would be air-conditioned and have a retractable roof.
