First out man to serve in Colo. legislature

Colorado has gained its first openly gay male member of its legislature in Mark Ferrandino, the treasurer of the state Democratic Party who's been named to take the seat of state Rep. Mike Cerbo. "Mark is among a growing number of openly gay leaders who refuse to let their sexual orientation keep them from serving their communities as elected officials," said Chuck Wolfe, president of the Victory Fund. "He will be a strong voice in state government not only for his district, but for gays and lesbians across Colorado."
