Husqvarna says U.S. demand for garden gear lower than usual

Bob Cook, Husqvarna's head of consumer products in North America, told investors and analysts that the recent housing downturn and credit crunch in the U.S. were not likely to collapse the market for garden equipment. However, demand for the equipment has been weak in the past couple of months, a time when sales usually peak.
