Building owners invest in retrofits

Many commercial building owners are investing in retrofits to make their buildings more efficient and environmentally friendly. Deutsche Bank, for instance, will retrofit its headquarters in Germany for about $290 million, which could cut its energy bill and carbon emissions in half. Nevertheless, observers note that some building owners have struggled to secure financing for retrofit projects because of the economic downturn.
