Professor: Secondary-school reforms are needed in England

Professor David Hargreaves is calling for a "system redesign" of secondary schools in England, saying they need to meet the demands of 21st-century learning. Hargreaves proposes giving students more input in curriculum, information technology use and assessment. In his model, teachers would serve as coaches or mentors, and schools would collaborate as part of a network.
