Burger joint builds buzz with loyalty rewards

Restaurants must get more creative in their efforts to maximize buzz from location-based marketing tools, especially when one customer is so loyal that it seems the mayoral torch will never be passed. The owners of burger joint AJ Bombers have continued successful early efforts by moving beyond rewarding Jim, the eatery's apparently permanent Foursquare mayor, and creating a "Loyalty Royalty" menu that uses Foursquare's dashboard to track the three top visitors each month. Those guests get to help create -- and enjoy -- the next month's menu.
