BNY Mellon exec raises questions about regulating innovation

Paul Bodard, an executive vice president at BNY Mellon, said at the Sibos conference that financial innovation had "some detrimental effect" on the global marketplace in 2008 and 2009. Bodard and other conference attendees discussed issues related to different types of securitization, credit default swaps and other relatively new financial products.
