Bondholders worry about accelerating spinoffs

Corporate bondholders are preparing for a big increase in spinoffs that are intended to make shareholders happy but often are bad news for owners of the selling companies' debt. Investors holding investment-grade bonds trading above par are bracing for spinoffs that result in takeover offers with low premiums for old bonds.
