Va. district continues transition to digital textbooks

Fairfax County, Va., schools will eliminate some traditional textbooks this year and replace them with online texts available on netbook computers. High-school teacher Ken Halla said the technology gives students greater access to information, as they can read the text, view videos online and access other resources. Officials say the district has retained hardcover texts for students that need them.
