Study backs ultrasound at 6-month intervals for hepatocellular carcinoma screening

A new meta-analysis finds that ultrasound performed every six months is reliable and cost-effective for hepatocellular carcinoma screening in cirrhotic patients. The study involved information from 12 studies in eight countries and was presented at the International Liver Cancer Association Annual Conference.
