Report: Fourth-quarter construction outlook will vary

There will be some ups and some downs for the construction industry in the fourth quarter of 2003, according to FMI's Construction Outlook: Third Quarter 2003 Report. While nonresidential construction is expected to slow by the end of this year, it is expected to pick up again in 2004. Commercial construction, which rose 4% in the second quarter of 2003, is predicted to rise 12% through 2004, according to Reed Business Information economist Jim Haughey.
