Schools establish rules for handheld devices

As handheld devices like PDAs evolve to offer wireless Internet access, schools are finding they must update their policies on acceptable use of the high-tech gadgets and cell phones during school hours. Teachers say the devices distract students, who quietly send messages to their friends during class.
