Researchers find gene linked directly to obesity

Korean researchers report they have identified a gene linked directly to obesity. Genes previously linked to obesity were found to generally control appetite, but the Korean scientists say the new gene plays a more crucial role by directing the process of turning nutrients into fat. The finding could boost efforts to develop anti-obesity drugs.
