ConAgra reports brand performance

ConAgra Foods reported improving sales for its Slim Jim, Van Camp's, Manwich and La Choy brands as well as its food services and food ingredients businesses, but slower movement for its Act II, Banquet, Hunt's and Healthy Choice lines. Overall, the company beat analysts' expectations for its first quarter, due in part to the sale of shares in Pilgrim's Pride Corporation. Gary Rodkin takes the helm at ConAgra Oct. 1.
